Painting should be fun and an outlet for your creative energy, and you should feel safe to learn in an environment that is helpful and encouraging and NOT judgmental or stressful. This is the place for that! Angela will give you some ideas on how to get started in this versatile medium, helping you to feel more confident through the skills you will be practicing and the tools you’ll get to know.
This five week series will walk you through the elements of creating a series of subject matter in oil or acrylic. The first class will go over the basics of the materials and then you'll paint a simple still life from a photo. (Artist will provide images to use in class). The second class will focus on landscapes, which we will begin and complete in the third week. Students will then begin a floral painting which will be completed in the fourth week. The last week, we will discuss portraits and the figure, and how the elements from the previous weeks go in to adding a human element to your work. Plenty of images will be provided for students to work on in their own time during class, so even if a student is fast at completing their painting, they will be able to start a new one while others work at their own pace.
