Painting the Portrait with Acrylics: Get in on this class - Angela will not offer another portrait class for a while!
Cole Gallery in Edmonds, WA; 2 day workshop, June 6 & 7.
Don't think you can paint a portrait? Think again - painting the portrait is just about learning how to see shapes for what they are, not what you think they are. Learn how to create an effective portrait using simple tips and tricks, and gain some valuable tools to help you work around the fast drying time of acrylic paint. Oil painters are welcome as well, just bring a fast dry medium and odorless mineral spirits. Learn more about this class and sign up online here.

Fume Free Oil Painting
A Guilded Gallery in Stanwood, WA; 2 day workshop, July 18 & 19.
Learn how to paint with oils - fume free! You can use water soluble oils, or traditional oils with alternative solutions! Angela will take you through lessons, with a valuable take home summary at the end of the weekend for your personal use. Get more information about the class here.

Thursday Night Atelier with Angela Bandurka
Each Thursday, Angela will mentor students of all levels, all mediums! Drop in for one class or sign up for all four in each session to get a discount. Get more information and sign up online here.

Artist's Tip

Ok this month it isn't so much of a tip, as it is a story about a recent commission I completed. Commissions are an easy way to have a piece of art customized to fit you and your family - an heirloom to pass down through the generations. If you'd like to discuss how to start a commission, contact me and we can get started.

An artist friend recently paid me a great compliment when she recommended me to a client for a commission that she was unable to work into her schedule. The client, Kevin, wanted to propose to his girlfriend at the Seattle Art Museum (within a month or so) and he wanted to have it set up as a "Special Event" that would feature a painting of him proposing to his girlfriend in the space where the painting was sitting.

Read more about it and watch a time lapse video of the painting's creation on my blog.
