Which Social Media Site is BEST for my Business? by Angela Bandurka

Based on the information in this infographic, and the knowledge that my average customer is a well off woman in the 45-65 age range; my efforts are best served by Facebook and Pinterest.

Since I use a content management service (Pagemodo.com) I post to Twitter at the same time I do my Facebook posts.

Pinterest is a social media site I update less frequently; posting once a month or so. Whenever I have a couple of new paintings to add to it.

I have an Instagram account, but since Twitter and Instagram users are almost equally overlapping eachother, I focus mainly on Twitter.

Google+ feels clunky to me, so I haven't focused much of my energy on it. However, since things change with the wind on the internet, I'll keep my eye on the numbers in case I need to ramp up my Google+ presence.

Having a routine, a workflow, helps make the process of promoting and selling more automatic. As a full time artist, I try to schedule my projects and my days so that I can be most efficient. This graphic shows you my workflow, which is like a lifecycle, never ending and alive.

How can Artists Harness the Power of Social Media? by Angela Bandurka

There is so much fear surrounding the internet and social media. If you are smart about it, there is no reason to be afraid. Social Media can drive traffic to your website, creating more interest in your work, bigger responses to your workshop offerings, and boost your reputation in the field.

And the best part? Other than the cost of you internet access, it's FREE! You can start with just a free blog to post your images to, and a Facebook page. Then upgrade to an ecommerce website and more than one social media page.

Start simply and don't take on too much. You can get there in time. Just take a deep breath and jump into it!
