ABOUT THE ARTIST
ARTIST BIO
Angela Bandurka creates paintings in acrylic that explore the theme of connection. Whether it’s through figurative works, still life pieces, or landscapes, Angela looks for connections to the past, present, and future. Born in B.C., Canada in the mid 1970s to a multi-generational family of artists, she calls her work Impressionistic Representationalism. Paintings that look fairly realistic but maintain a painterly essence. She has been a full time artist and art instructor since 2008, with Southwest Art Magazine calling her one of their Artists to Watch in 2019, and The Best of Acrylic Magazine featured her work on their cover in 2022. She teaches regularly online with Acrylic University, Cole Gallery, and on her website at AngelaBandurka.com.

Creating something from nothing has always been my passion. Whether it’s drawing on paper with a pencil or painting in acrylic on canvas - it’s my way of expressing myself as well as fulfilling a need to create. My style has evolved over time to include a realistic slant on impressionism, and my background in graphic design has really helped shape my sense of balance, colour, and narration. Through those elements, my goal is for my work to invoke some sort connection to the viewer.
